The football memorabilia market keeps going from strength to strength. We usually curate mixed sports memorabilia auctions but such has been the depth of interest in football collectibles that for the first time in a very long while we have presented an entire auction dedicated to the ‘beautiful game’. The auction encompasses a wide variety of memorabilia including medals, caps, autographs, programmes, books and other paper memorabilia; but is particularly strong with jerseys and has over 400 examples dating from the 1920s to the modern era. Football League Division One Champions medal warded to Huddersfield Town's Charlie Wilson
Charlie Wilson was signed by Herbert Chapman for Huddersfield Town FC in November 1922. His goals gave the team successive League Championships in 1924 and 1925. The Charlie Wilson collection comprises lots 20 to 25.

Newcastle scored 2 goals in the Final to take their second FA Cup victory. Known as the 'Rainy Day Final', the poor weather at Wembley Stadium on the day of the Final damaged most of the programmes given to those in attendance.
