A rare set of England autographs from the 1911-1912 Ashes Tour of Australia

Estimated Price:

£300 - £500

A rare set of England autographs from the 1911-1912 Ashes Tour of Australia, in black ink, including “Plum" Warner (Captain) Douglas, Kinneir, Mead, Sydney Barnes, Foster, George Gunn, Vine, Hitch, Hearne, Herbert Strudwick, Iremonger, Frank Woolley, Jack Hobbs, Wilf Rhodes Campbell (Scorer) & Tom Pawley (Manager). Some tape and edge damage.

The MCC Ashes tour of Australia from 1911 to 1912 was a significant event in cricket history. Led by Pelham "Plum" Warner, the tour faced an early setback when Warner fell ill, leading to Johnny Douglas assuming the captaincy for the Test series. Despite losing the first Test in Sydney, England dominated the subsequent matches, winning the series 4-1 and regaining The Ashes.
