This is a rare and unique opportunity to bid for a true piece of football history, a true one of a kind piece of football memorabilia.
Fattorini & Sons along with approximately 150 others submitted their designs to the New Football Association in 1911. The F.A. decided to change the design after 1909 winners, Manchester United, made their own replica, leading the F.A. to realise they did not own the copyright, so the 2nd F.A.Cup (1896-1910), was presented to Lord Kinnaird to by The Football Association to commemorate his 21st Anniversary as President of The F.A. The first F.A.Cup was stolen and believed melted down to make silver coins.
The Football Association wanted a new design after the cup was presented to Lord Kinnaird and the F.A.Cup designed by Fattorini & Sons was chosen and has become the world's most recognised Cup trophy from the oldest national football competition
