From the Booth to the Bridge: Inside Paul Oakenfold’s Football Shirt Auction

World-renowned DJ Paul Oakenfold has filled stadiums with sound for decades. Now, he’s opening the doors to a different kind of arena - the world of football memorabilia - with a personal collection that’s as global as his touring schedule.

The Paul Oakenfold Soccer Sports Jersey Collection is now live as a dedicated timed auction, bringing together match and commemorative shirts from some of football’s biggest names and moments. Worn and signed shirts from Chelsea icons, international legends, and MLS game-changers are all on offer - part of a collection that’s rooted in both music and football.

Oakenfold’s legacy might be rooted in dance music, but this sale is all about his other lifelong passion. A lifelong Chelsea supporter, he has even gone as far as naming his LA recording studio after Stamford Bridge. Over the years, while performing around the globe, he collected football shirts from players, clubs, fans, and promoters - building a private archive that’s never before been seen. Until now.

“I feel it’s time to let someone else enjoy them - wear them, collect them, show them off.”

A pioneer of electronic music, Paul Oakenfold’s influence stretches from the acid house clubs of 1980s London to the world’s biggest festival stages. He helped shape the sound of trance through his legendary Cream sets and acclaimed mix albums like Goa Mix and Global Underground: New York. He’s remixed giants like U2 and Madonna, scored films including The Matrix Reloaded, and even played DJ sets at Stonehenge and Mount Everest Base Camp. A true global icon, his career spans genres, generations, and continents—just like his football shirt collection.

Among the standout pieces in the auction is a commemorative shirt worn by Didier Drogba in the 2012 Champions League Final - the night Chelsea lifted their first European title. It comes with a signed match programme from Frank Lampard, making it a powerful memento from Munich. There’s also David Beckham’s No.23 LA Galaxy shirt from the 2007-09 MLS era - a defining piece from a pivotal moment in American soccer. Chelsea fans can also bid on Joe Cole’s No.10 shirt from the 2006-08 seasons under José Mourinho, and a signed 2010-11 shirt worn by Salomon Kalou, bearing seven autographs. From further afield, a green Real Madrid Champions League shirt stands out, with full UEFA flashes and visible wear.

From Argentina to LA Galaxy, Barcelona to CSKA Moscow, this auction spans continents and kits - offering something for every kind of collector, whether you're in it for the names, the nostalgia, or the rare designs.

Don’t miss your chance to bid on a unique slice of football and music crossover history. Auction ends on Sunday, 13th June.
